Farewell Spit
The local people were trying to keep the whales alive by using what they had at the beach or anywhere, they had put towels or t shirts on the whales, they did that because when they got the water and poured it on the whales or on the towel or t shirt, the towel or t shirt will still be wet and keep the whale with water. But they tried their best.

Talofa Lau,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your thoughts about the whales. It's sad to read about the horrific experience they went through but so lovely to see the amount of people that turned up to try and help save them. Looking at your photo you posted brings so many memories to the time it was all over the news. It was so sad to see the whales suffer. Unfortunately, some whales did not get to survive. I hope you have enjoyed learning about the Farewell spit.
Enjoy the rest of your learning Journey through New Zealand Lau!
Best wishes,
Jacinta
